You are forced to give up your current color and use a new one. Which do you chose and why?

Mr. Kayne, I use three colors: White, Red, and Green.

If I were to choose only one out of my three, it would be White easily. Though it would make it slightly harder to defend myself, I could focus more on helping others and healing the sick. Barring White, Green would be the easiest fit. The use of my Red spells are few and far between, these days…

If I had to choose one of the other colors… Blue. Black spells tend to be cruel, and only bring suffering in their wake. Many black mages carry a certain taint on their soul… Though a few people can use it for good.

Out of sociological curiosity, what was your reaction when you first witnessed blue magic, presumably in Bant?

Yes! My first encounter with Blue magics were in Bant, actually. On Naya, there was a complete lack of Blue mana. I think it’s cold and unfeeling. Blue magic is far too clinical in my eyes.

Though the Bantians did put it to good use. I cannot say the same for Grixis or Esper, however… Cruel and unfeeling… That is no way to live.

What made you decide to become the mod of your MTG character? Im curious. If you could mod another character. Who would it be?

((Honestly… I at first HATED Liliana I didn’t like her as a card, nor did I like her since I thought she was such a whore… Till I got used to her and…

((I’m perfectly happy with Nissa, personally. She’s been my favorite since I first saw her (and I rejoined playing MTG right during Zendikar block too, whoo), but if I had to choose any other ‘walker.. uhm.. I guess Sorin. I like Chandra and all, but she’s my hubby’s favorite and I don’t seem to RP her correctly. But Sorin is my second fave male walker and he wasn’t too bad of a guy.))

((I saw several ask start up, and I wanted in. Kiora was the only Neo-Walker left that wasn’t red. My alt would probably be Liliana.))

((I discovered a bunch of Ask a Pony blogs and loved them and decided, “Hey! There are no Planeswalkers!” So I picked a White Planeswalker that no one would really be upset if I took. Anyone object if I start a series called Magic: The Tumblr? Well too bad I’m already starting the cover page. If you’re gonna object to having yourself in…

If you wish… But if your just gonna trash my art then don’t bother. -___-

I will not ‘trash your art’ as you put it. However if you wish to further your art skills, one must be put through horrible critiques.

Theres a difference between furthering my art skills and having someone who thinks something is wrong with it. When in my eyes theirs nothing wrong with it. Personally Eslpeth I hate criticism. I feel as though Art is like fire mana… Free and creative. However if it HAS be under ORDER as your enjoy doing so much. Then I say back off. You can have opinions on it. But it doesn’t mean the Artist is gonna change just to make you happy. And unless your “mod” is an art major, or has studies art enough to know what terms to use in order to critique my work such as the anatomy, scale, space, mass, proportion, and the Ideal of Beauty. Then you can talk all you want. And I’m sorry that your Mod has had his/her projects ripped to pieces by peers. But you shouldn’t be there to PLEASE other people. You should do it cause you enjoy it….

Critique never feels good. Never. It doesnt matter if you ask for it. It will always stab at your ego just a bit. That doesn’t mean it’s not important. That being said I can agree that it’s reasonable to request that you don’t get critique. A person who offers too much critique can be seen as having a “holier than thou” persona. The truth is that for the most part, they mean nothing by it except to help you, but always be your own biggest critique, not the big critque of others, because in the end your own art is the one in the most need of improvement no matter how you look at it! That’s a good view to have.

But if you never ask for critique, you’ll never be able to truly improve. I remember many years ago when I received a very harsh critque from a close friend. I was told that all of my art looked stiff and lifeless. I felt really bad and resentful at first, but you can bet I made a conscious effort to change that, and now I have them to thank for my improvement!

The moral:

If you’re going to be a critique, prepare to be disliked. It’s not because you’re a bad person, it’s just the nature of it. In the end you may be helping the person greatly, but always focus on your own flaws more than others.

If you’re an artist, try not to get too upset with critique. They mean well, and it’s things like that that will make you a better artist. Everyone needs to improve and when you stop trying to you stop being a good artist, no matter your skill level.

I hope I’m not stepping on any toes here, I say these things in general to everyone and not to the people involved with this dispute.

((ACTOR HERE. I’ve learned the most from the directors who have been the most critical of me. It’s helped me to get more real and break some more barriers onstage.

That said… Elspeth-Mod is a nice girl and I reckon she’s not just gonna be really mean to you so you don’t need to get pre-defensive. Unless you’re expecting something, in which case you may’ve already done something wrong and you subconsciously know it.

Ellie-Mod and Jace2.0-Mod are trying to be nice. So no need to get all defensive. We’re all friends here as far as I know.))
